Fantasy Box Office Draft

Details

How Fantasy Box Office Draft works

Create a movie draft, upload everyone's picks, and share a public standings page that updates as real worldwide box office grosses are reported.

Create a draft

CSV format

Upload one CSV with player, title. Headers are case-insensitive. Use one row per movie pick, repeat a player's name for each movie they drafted, and put the rows in global draft order.

player,title
Ethan,Project Hail Mary
Sara,Toy Story 5
Ethan,Avengers: Doomsday
Sara,Dune: Part Three

CSV row order becomes the initial pick order. After uploading, drag the pick cards and add round breaks in the owner editor. Rounds may contain different numbers of picks. Movie titles must be unique within the draft, and files can be up to 256 KB.

Scoring

Each movie contributes its worldwide box office revenue multiplied by its round multiplier. The leaderboard ranks players by total scored revenue.

Movies with no revenue yet or without a match stay at $0 until matching box office data is available.

Owner controls

Draft owners can rename the draft, edit the public description, copy the share link, toggle visibility, edit draft order and multipliers, add picks, mark picks as not released in the draft year, re-upload picks, resolve unmatched titles, and delete the draft.

The public share link stays the same when the draft name changes.

Public and private drafts

Public drafts can be viewed by anyone with the link. Private drafts remain visible only to the signed-in owner.

Owners can still preview and manage private drafts from the dashboard.

Unmatched picks

A pick is unmatched when the draft title cannot be connected to a box office title for the draft year. Owners can review candidates and save a manual match.

Drift flags show picks whose previous match no longer appears in the box office data.

Re-upload and delete

Re-uploading replaces the current picks and recomputes standings while keeping upload history and links or overrides for unchanged titles. Picks created only in the owner controls disappear unless they are included in the replacement CSV. Deleting a draft removes its picks, uploads, and cached standings.

Delete requires typing the exact draft name before the action runs.
